Moldova – #Striptease Ukrainian representing Moldova sings pop tune with dancing police. Out.
Belgium – #Horrormoviestarinthemaking He might have copied Lorde but look he can spin! And sing while lying down! Qualified.
The Netherlands – #Why-y-y-y Woman in lace veil dramatically reveals a very tame performance. Out.
Finland – #RARGH Differently-abled punk band give us 100 seconds of pure rock. Out.
Greece – #Powerballad Fairly standard ballad gets all dramatic last minute. Qualified.
Estonia – #ThereturnofNetherlands2014 Man on guitar sings duet with woman. Qualified.
FYR Macedonia – #NoAnimation Man who thinks he has smooth moves sings modern ballad in a mackintosh. Out.
Serbia – #Europopbreakdown Power ballad about accepting yourself takes on amazing europop middle eight. Qualified.
Hungary – #Acoustic Simple song reminds us to live in peace and Stop Injustice! Qualified.
Belarus – #Violins Violinist gets name status in fairly standard pop song. Plus smoke machines! Out.
Russia – #Dress Woman sings. Dress covers half of impressively sized stage. Woman can’t move. Qualified.
Denmark – #Guitars Teen boys try to be McFly by playing indie pop on own instruments. Out.
Albania – #Cape Albania’s winner of The Voice of Italy (really) sings uptempo ballad in bat outfit. Qualified.
Romania – #ThinkoftheChildren Middle aged rock band worry what immigration is doing to the next generation. Qualified.
Georgia – #Oximated Wednesday Addams is all grown up and she sings pop songs now. Qualified.
What else? Well the half time show involved seeing Vienna from an animal’s point of view (it was just as exciting as that sounds!) and the fairly standard screen at the back of the stage showed just how underused/terrible the #superstage was in Copenhagen last year. But Conchita was, of course, amazing, both performing and acting as the green room liaison. Bring on Semi 2!
